We had a great day on this tour. Included stops were varied. Port Arthur itself offered a window into Australia colonial past and more recent tragedy. Big mention for Phil our highly knowledgeable guide and driver. He really made the trip for us. I even rate his jokes. Badly, but rated nonetheless.

The whole trip form start to end was magnificent. Beautiful views & sceneries along the way. Mark (GrayLine) was easy going & made the trip most enjoyable. Truly a worthwhile place to visit.

We had to ring the night before to find out what time we were being picked up as we hadn't been contacted. We were picked up by Greg - who didn't introduce himself until he'd picked everyone up. Greg was a stickler for the rules, pedantic about time, and not overly friendly. He was knowledgeable for sure but didn't seem keen on engaging with anyone. When we arrived at Port Arthur we waited about 20 minutes for the 'walking tour' to start. The tour was to go for 40 minutes and we found ourselves standing on wet lawn for 25 minutes being talked at before we decided to split from the group and actually go and have a look at the buildings. We were told our boat tour was at 1pm and to be prompt. We found there was not enough time to have a look at the main buildings, eat lunch (which you have to get from the onsite cafe and is not included) and then get to the pier by 1pm. We decided to forego the 30 minute cruise and explore more of Port Arthur. We are so glad we did, it is a truly historic place with many tales to tell. There is so much to see here. The day was just not long enough to see it all. Greg then took us to see the Tasman Arch, which was beautiful, but we were again under time constraints. We would have enjoyed this tour much more if we had had a guide who was more engaging and friendly, and more time to really explore the area.

So grateful we chose to use grey line coaches rather than self driving to Port Arthur. Our driver Phil was most informative and entertaining and we learnt so much about the history and natural surroundings. Had a great sense of humour and a lot of anecdotal stories about local life and each of the areas we travel through. Port Arthur was awesome, and some of the stops along the way a very lovely surprise. Would definitely recommend travelling with Phil & Greyline buses.

From the moment Zack picked me up in the tour Van he was friendly and had a massive smile on his face, During the drive to port Arthur he was explaining some of the history, letting us know so much information, I didn’t know there was that much history behind Hobart and Tasmania At port Arthur Zack joined me on part of my walk around and shared further information about port Arthur and some other little fun facts that I wouldn’t have ever thought of. He took us to some little beaches and the Remarkable caves, which was just breath taking and such an amazing sight to see It was such a lovely day out to end my holiday in Tassie (from Brisbane) Really really loved the tour

Great day out at a sad place in history. The side trips to the sea cave and Arch were also excellent. Mark our driver was a wealth of knowledge.

We travelled on Grey Line tours to Port Arthur with “Tim” as our guide. We had a fantastic time and learnt so much about Tasmania and our history. Tims knowledge was outstanding and made our day one to remember.

Excellent guide makes all the difference, our guide/driver Phil was professional, knowledgeable and passionate about showcasing the best of Tasmania. Booking the tour was easy and arranging pickup from our Airbnb was no issue at all, we simply reached out to the booking admin and got a response straightaway. It was nice to outsource the driving so we could take in the amazing scenery and Phil's insightful and funny dad-joke-esque commentary kept us engaged through our trip to and from Port Arthur. Quite a fast paced itinerary that's perfect if you're short on time or want to get an overview of what the Port Arthur site is all about. Thoroughly enjoyed our trip and would highly recommend the Grayline Port Arthur day trip, especially if you're lucky enough to get Phil as your guide.

Tim our driver from Gray Line was excellent, informative, friendly and polite. The guide at PT Arthur took too long to explain site so little time left to see buildings but still great day.

An important part in Australian History, The Port Arthur tour is a must for any Hobart visit. Our driver, Mark, is helpful and very knowledgeable - a great asset. His level of insight really helps draw a picture of the life in those times. The added stops were also amazing to see. I strongly suggest booking one of these tours.
