Tamar River Cruises is world class cruises, 10/10!! We spent our summer break in Tasmania and were recommended by a friend that a must do is the Tamar River Cruises. I am so pleased we went on the cruise; the views were breath taking; the gorge is spectacular and really takes your breathe away. The boats are in excellent condition and so smooth on the water. The service was amazing, the captain was friendly and very insightful and the staff in the ticket office spoke us through all the options and helped us select a cruise that suited us. I highly recommended Tamar River Cruises! I will be back again next year and next time for the cruise with the cheese and wine!!!

We did this tour and the host Toni was great very friendly and bubbly. Came with afternoon tea of fresh fruit, muffins, cookies, and fruit cake. On the way back we did wine and beer tasting. Finishing off in cataract gorge was a bonus

We went on this wonderful cruise today of the Tamar Valley, starting with a cruise into Cataract gorge and a look at the steep cliffs , bridges and walking tracks, with some history of the area as well ! Then we had a great cruise up the Tamar river with running ( and often very funny ) commentary from the captain Callum! We were able to view many beautiful birds, many lovely old homes , and wineries as we cruised by ! We also had endless tea and coffee and a nice afternoon tea on the cruise ship. We were also treated to a tasting of some of the local wines and beers ! All in all it was a very enjoyable afternoon and I would highly recommend it to anyone !!!

Nice relaxing afternoon cruise down the river. Lyn, the skipper, is very knowledgeable about the local area. Includes tasting of 3 local wines and 1 beer. This cruise is more suited to old geriatrics than young people, but still a nice experience.

The 2.5 hour discovery cruise was a thoroughly relaxing one in very comfortable conditions. The service was friendly and the commentary interesting. Tea and coffee were available for the whole cruise and we were given a variety of muffins, biscuits and fruit to consume. The cruise went a long way up the Tamar past the vineyards from which many of Tassie's famous pinot noirs originate. On the way back, we had a sampling of three different wines and a James Boag beer. The boat then ventured a short distance up Cataract Gorge before returning to the home dock. Pros - the boat (Tamar Odyssey) is a good size - the seating is very comfortable - there is seating upstairs and downstairs - there are enclosed and open spaces on deck - the crew are very friendly and welcoming - the commentary is interesting - free endless coffee/tea with snacks are provided - there is a wine and beer tasting during the tour - alcoholic drinks are available for sale on board - there is a discount for seniors - tour includes a cruise along part of the gorge - tour can be booked online Cons - there isn't a great variety of scenery along the Tamar The cruise was well worth it.

Wouldn't recommend for children or teenagers, it is more of a relaxing tour then an entertaining tour. Staff were very nice and accommodating, commentary took place for less than 50% of the tour. Food was nice and there were plenty of hot Beveridge, there was also wine tasting. Would recomend for older adults.
