The Elephant & Wheelbarrow Pub,

Really enjoyed the beers here. They also have mulled cider, which was very interesting (though tasty). Can't comment on the food, however the menu looked pretty good, with a good range of options at a reasonable price. Great English pub in the middle of the Melbourne CBD, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a quick pint
Great place, but hate how the upstairs bar isn't open during lunchtime. So if you want to order lunch or a pint but have no where else to sit but upstairs, then you're screwed. You have to go back downstairs to order, then back up to wait for it and make sure no one has nicked your table (this joint gets full to quickly, so seating is a problem here), then go back down to collect it, then go back up to eat it. Absolutely ridiculous!! I'm sitting in the upstairs right at this very moment, and would love a drink and a bite to eat. But being the lunch rush, and a venue for the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, it is fairly packed and I know that my table will snatched from me once I stand up. (I'm here by myself, so I have no companion to keep guard over my table either!) They should have waiters and waitresses here like at a Bistro, instead of making people having to go up to a counter to place their orders. Would be more convenient, especially during busy hours.
