Unfortunately, the 2020 Great Barrier Reef Festival has had to be cancelled in line with Coronavirus restrictions.
The Great Barrier Reef Festival, proudly supported by Cruise Whitsundays, celebrates what it means to live in the Whitsunday region at the Heart of the Great Barrier Reef.
The region's favourite festival will celebrate 21 years in 2021 and will take over the vibrant tourist hub of Airlie Beach from July 29 - August 1. The 4-day event is a delicious combination of family fun, environmental and art initiatives, destination events, local food and fashion and some of the biggest parties in the tropical north.
The 2021 festival will feature a fun-filled program of events including the Coral Sea Marina Resort Lantern Parade, Great Barrier Reef interactive workshops and installations, a Comedy Gala, massive reef-themed street parade, main street car show, a wearable art parade and Recyclable Regatta and free family fun activities on the Airlie Foreshore.
The not-to-be-missed Fireworks on the Foreshore event will ignite the skies on Friday Jul 30, the biggest night on the Airlie calendar, complete with night markets, food stalls, carnival rides and performers and the Foreshore Pop-up Bar.
The Beats on the Beach foreshore stage will be pumping out live music throughout the weekend with a fantastic line-up of artists soon to be announced....
