Penguin viewing, walking the town and enjoying a great coffee at Marley’s and excellent takeaway fish and chips from Hurseys. We arrived at 8 pm on Day 1. Spent Day 2 visiting the Tarkine area then walked around Stanley. Day 3 we enjoyed the Harvest Market - excellent for fresh produce, craft and music.

Chair lift up The Nutt was good but we needed to spend more time there to walk around the whole area. I recommend the scallop pie in the cafe below the chairlift.
Easy access to walk to see penguins after dark.
We drove around town but if we had more time, walking would have been better so we could have had a closer look

Stanley is a beautiful town with lovely houses and places to eat, drink and shop. A trip on the chair lift to the top of The Nut was excellent. Icing on the cake was seeing the little blue o penguins come home after a days’ fishing.

We absolutely loved Stanley! We enjoyed a beautiful breakfast at Marley's @ Sticks & Stones, Shells & Bones and then caught the chairlift up to the top of the Nut. We loved the sensational views from the summit and did the 45 minute walk around the top. We saw a couple of pademelons too.
At sunset, we went down to the beach to wait for the penguins to come in from the sea. We saw loads of them and they were so cute!
We also had a visit to Highfields House and enjoyed exploring all the rooms in the exquisitely restored mansion and reading up on all the history. There's lots to do in Stanley.

Stanley and surroundings are beautifull. Stanley is a nice, cosy city with all kinds of shops. Worth to visit is the Nuth. There are also, in a short distance, enough short walks. As well coastal as forrestal.
