We spent a month in Tasmania and our last stop near Mt Roland was the best. Russell and Irene treated us very kindly and provided one of the best breakfasts I've had in a long time. Real coffee and hot crossiants fresh from the oven with local jam and cherries the size of apples. We will return one day. :)
Glencoe Country Bed and Breakfast has some interesting information on why Australia is called the land down under?
Australia is known as 'the land Down Under' for its position in the southern hemisphere. The discovery of Australia began when European explorers searched for land under the continent of Asia. Before Australia was discovered, it was known as Terra Australis Incognita the unknown southern land.
