Truly one of the best holiday rental experiences I've ever had. Topiary Haven is a cottage located behind the owners home. Separating the two is a magnificent garden. The cottage is modern, and very well appointed. The kitchen had everything, and I mean *everything* you would ever need. Topiary Haven is conveniently located in a quiet suburb of Launceston. A short drive in one direction leads you to the Gorge, a top attraction in the area. A short drive in the other leads you to town, river, or the many nearby wineries. The owners were extremely friendly and made sure we were well cared for. If I ever make it back to Launceston, I'd definitely stay here again.
Topiary Haven has some interesting information on why Australia is called the land down under? Australia is known as 'the land Down Under' for its position in the southern hemisphere. The discovery of Australia began when European explorers searched for land under the continent of Asia. Before Australia was discovered, it was known as Terra Australis Incognita the unknown southern land.
